YING YOGA FOR SPINE HEALTH

A yin yoga class designed for optimizing spine health and working the spine with yin yoga postures into six degrees of freedom; flexion, extension, twists and lateral extension. Focus on releasing tension along the spine, increasing awareness to maintain spinal range of motion and healthy movement as we age. Breath work, relaxation and mindfulness techniques incorporated to help tension release, a focused practice to bring more awareness to our own neutral (tension free) spine and overall spine health.

Couples Massage 101 with yoga

Deepen your relationship and develop healthy stress reduction habits at home! Beyond a simple shoulder rub, our massage 101 class is designed to connect you with the innate healing abilities that reside within you with therapeutic Massage techniques combined with yoga.
Research shows that massage increases the bonding hormone oxytocin which is beneficial to physical and emotional health. Studies also show that a primary component in healthy relationship is learning to recognize how your partner asks for attention and support.
Massage is an opportunity to practice both asking for AND receiving attention/ support in healthy ways. You will also receive a bottle of oil that you can customize with an essential oil fragrance of your choice to continue these techniques off the mat.
YIN YOGA FOR HIP HEALTH

A yin yoga class designed for optimizing hip health and working the hips with yin yoga postures into six degrees of freedom; external rotation, abduction, flexion, adduction, extension, and internal rotation. Class focus is on releasing tension around the joint, your hip socket, increasing awareness to maintain a healthy range of motion and movement in the hips as we age. Breath work, relaxation and mindfulness techniques incorporated to help tension release, a focused practice to bring more awareness to your hips health and mobility.

Soundbath + Yoga Nidra
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24th | 4 to 5:30pm
Join teachers Michelle Mattern and Jennifer Woolfrey as they guide you on a magical journey of energetic cleansing and deep conscious sleep. The session will start with a 45 minute Soundbath combined with gentle restorative yoga postures, and will end with a guided yoga nidra practice.This Soundbath will incorporate the use of quartz crystal singing bowls that correspond to each of the 7 chakras. The vibrational qualities of each sound can help to release energetic blockages and create a sense of peace, relaxation and heightened awareness. This is the perfect way to prepare you for Yoga Nidra in which you are guided into a deep state of relaxation and then conscious sleep. In Yoga Nidra you are completely relaxed and the nervous system calmed, allowing you opportunity to observe the patterns of your subconscious and unconscious mind.
Join us in this powerful combination of cleansing soundbath and a journey into the depths of your inner self, and watch as you unlock the doors to your highest potential. Comfortable warm clothing, a pillow and a blanket are suggested. All levels welcome!
INTRO TO YOGA+BARRE+SCULPT

Join us for this free workshop that will take you back to the foundations of these three class styles. Learn the foundations, proper alignment principals, cuing, and the techniques necessary for a safe and fun class. Learn the proper use of props and weights and how they can assist in your practice.

Qigong is the practice of working with energy through breath, movement, sound, and mind. This experiential workshop will guide you through several Qigong techniques and how they may be incorporated into your personal practice, or yoga teaching philosophies. Each session begins with qi gong breathing techniques and visualizations and will often include a standing meditation practice (otherwise known as the “million dollar secret of qi gong”).

This event will feature a 45 minute outdoor yoga class followed by treats and hot drinks. Stay warm and stand out in a snazzy 80's snowsuit! This fundraiser will be to support Calgary's Inn from the Cold program. Inn from the Cold works to provide shelter, sanctuary and healing to assist homeless children and their families achieve independence.
yin + Massage
SUNDAY, JAN 13TH | 5 to 7pm
Yin and massage blended together in one class offers a more effective myofascial release, targeting the deeper connective tissues of the body (fascia, joints, tendons, ligaments). Relaxation and release is deepened in the body with massage and other hands on adjustments applied throughout the 2 hour invigorating yin yoga (traditional style) class, all while students hold yin postures in stillness and for time.
BARRE INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
DECEMBER 8TH & 9TH | 2 - 7PM
In this Level 1, 10 hour instructor training, we will dive into technique, movement patterns, cuing, moving to the beat, creating playlists and a deeper connection to yourself. By the end of Level 1 training you will have the tools to structure a class with various exercises and movement patterns synced to music.
SOUNDBATH CLEANSE & RESTORATIVE YOGA
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30 | 7 to 8:30pm
Join Yoga Teacher Michelle Mattern as she guides you through a Restorative Yoga practice with Quartz Crystal singing bowls that correspond to each of the 7 chakras to help cleanse them through sound. Each sound bath will be a unique offering to each chakra.
